Before an order is accepted
You can withdraw an enquiry or decide not to proceed without charge. We begin chargeable production only once the written scope and project agreement are accepted and any required authorisations have been given.
UK consumer right to cancel
For an eligible distance contract, the usual cooling-off period for a service or digital-content contract is 14 days after the day on which the contract is entered into. Whether and how this right applies depends on the legal classification of the agreed deliverables and on any statutory conditions or exceptions.
If you want us to begin providing services before the end of that period, we will request your express instruction and explain any lawful proportionate payment that might be due if you cancel after work begins. Where downloadable digital content is supplied early or the service is fully performed, any rule affecting the change-of-mind right requires the separate consents, acknowledgements and confirmation that the law demands. We do not rely on an automatic waiver hidden in these pages.
How to send a cancellation notice
Email sales@builtfromone.com or write to Wayne Malyon trading as Built From One, 20 Shearers Drive, Spalding, PE11 3ZJ, United Kingdom. Say clearly that you wish to cancel the Build Your Story World order; include your name and project reference if available. You do not need a particular form or reason for a valid statutory cancellation.
We will acknowledge receipt and review the agreement, your notices, the actual work or supply completed and any mandatory rights. Ending a commission after its statutory cooling-off rights have ended is handled under the project agreement and applicable law.
Remedies and reimbursements
Nothing here removes your rights if agreed work is not delivered, is faulty or is materially different from its description. We will assess the appropriate remedy, which may include correction, repeat performance, a price reduction or a refund as required by law. Where a statutory refund is due, we return it without undue delay and within the legal time limit, normally to the original payment method.
